HISTORY

The Beginnings: As a Polyclinic (For 26 Years)

In 1986, the St. Camillus Polyclinic of Pasig was established as one of its healthcare institutions, catering to the healthcare needs of the surrounding communities, parishes and industrial companies for 26 years to date. It is a multi-specialty clinic owned and operated by the Ministers of the Infirm (The Camillians).

It provides healthcare services in the communities of Pasig City, Marikina City, Cainta and Antipolo City.

In 2006, St. Camillus Polyclinic of Pasig expanded its services with new, bigger and better facilities and modern equipment. It is our calling to be innovative in improving healthcare delivery, to restore well-being, to relieve and prevent suffering and to be a community of persons in service to others.

Upgrading to a Hospital

In 2007, the project to upgrade St. Camillus Polyclinic of Pasig to a hospital was conceptualized. This was in keeping with the Polyclinic’s vision to provide “total care of the sick, according to the signs of the times”. The upgrade of services from outpatient services to provision of both outpatient and inpatient healthcare services was aimed to attain this purpose. A feasibility study was conducted and the project was presented to the Camillian Fathers. The project was finally approved in 2010.

On Nov. 12, 2012, St. Camillus Medical Center opened its hospital services to the community. It is a tertiary hospital currently with a 40-bed capacity. Its formal inauguration was held on Nov. 16, 2016.

Its facilities include a tertiary laboratory with drug testing, HIV testing and newborn screening.

The Medical Imaging services include x-ray, general ultrasound, OB-gynecology ultrasound and CT scan.

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, electromyography and nerve conduction velocity (EMG-NCV) test and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.

2D-Echography with Color Doppler, Carotid Scan, Duplex Scan, Stress Echo, Treadmill Stress Test and ECG are available at the Heart Station.

The Respiratory Therapy Unit provides Pulmonary Function Test (Spirometry), Arterial Blood Gas Analysis, mechanical ventilators and nebulization.

Its Dental Clinic services include General Dentistry, Orthodontics and dental x-ray examinations.

The SCMC Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course for Tuberculosis (D.O.T.S.) Center is also a referral center for multiple drug resistance (MDR) cases. In 2011, it was given the Achievement Award by the Department of Health (D.O.H.) and the Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis (PhilCAT) for consistently achieving all targets set for an outpatient polyclinic-based D.O.T.S Center since it was established in 2007.

Last May 23, 2017, SCMC opened its new PhilHealth accredited 8-station Dialysis Center.
